The Numbers of Daniel
Dan 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain sainta which spoke, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? (14) And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
The word translated in the King James as "certain saint" is actually a proper name:
Palomoni { ל פ ל מ ו נ י} - Wonderful Numberer
Palomoni is one of only three named angels in scripture: Michael, Gabriel, Palomoni
Apparently from the above verse Palomoni's job is to keep up with numbers and report them as they are to be fulfilled.
[Another angel in scripture is called the "Angel of the Lord" which I believe is a reference to pre-incarnate appearances of Jesus.]
70 years - Dan 9:1-2 In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans; (2) In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. 70 --> 7x10 Seven is the number for completion, ten is the number for perfection. -- See notes on Use of Numbers in Scripture http://www.TheWordNotes.com
Israel was carried into captivity during the first year of Nebuchadnezzar's sole reign as king over Babylon. [Daniel was in that group.] 19 years later the rebellion of Zedekiah lead to the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem. Dan. 9:1-2 means that the 70 years of captivity foretold by Jeremiah was completed. Cyrus would actually issue the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem [Is. 44:28]. It was 19 years after Cyrus' decree that the temple was rebuilt. [Cyrus is either another name for Darius son of Ahasuerus or Cyrus was a co-reigner with Darius -- the Medes and the Persians co-reigned] This means the 70 years of Jeremiah were doubly fulfilled-- 70 years of captivity, 70 years no temple. The two periods overlap by 19 years.
Seven years = 2520 days [7 x 360] {7x3x3x4x10}
2300 days = 2520 - 220
--> 220 days is 7 months 10 days
Note: The tenth day of the seventh month is Yom Kippur [Day of Atonement]
At the end of the 2300 days the sanctuary will be properly cleansed. This will be done by Jesus at Armagedon.
Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
1335 days = 44 1/2 months or 3 years 8 1/2 months -- Dan 12:12 says a blessing is promised for those who are waiting and watching at the 1335 days. Is this a rapture? According to the Revelation there is more than one rapture. It is a month and a half before the sacrifices are abolished and two and a half months before the anti-christ enters the temple and claims to be God.
1290 days = 43 months which is 3 years 7 months
-- 43 is the 14th {2x7} prime number
Dan. 12:11 -- 1290 days before Jesus' return [Armageddon] the temple sacrifices will be abolished.
1260 days = 42 months {6x7} which is 3 1/2 years -- The day the anti-christ enters the temple and claims to be God -- demanding that everyone worship him. Dan. 7:25
The Revelation tells us that during that 1260 days 144,000 Jews [12,000 from each tribe except the tribe of Dan which is replaced by Joseph's son Manasseh. Rev. 7] will be protected by God in the wilderness.
The Revelation [Rev. 11] also tells us that two witnesses will preach the gospel and perform miracles for 42 months - 1260 days and will be killed by the anti-christ. If they begin their witness at the beginning of the last seven years, they will be killed the day the anti-christ enters the temple claiming to be God. [Note they will not be buried but will lie in the street for 3 days and then be called up to heaven.]
Dan 9:24-27 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, [1] to finish the transgression, and [2] to make an end of sins, and [3] to make reconciliation for iniquity, and [4] to bring in everlasting righteousness, and [5] to seal up the vision and prophecy, and [6] to anoint the most Holy. (25) Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. (26) And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. (27) And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. [Note: the 6th reason the Seventy weeks are determined is to anoint the most Holy -- literally the most Holy One -- namely -- Jesus.]
Note the Seventy weeks -- literally the seventy - sevens is not 490 days, but 490 years. We know this for a fact from verse 27 which says he {the anti-christ} will confirm a covenant with many for one week and Dan. 8:14 says the actual time period is 2300 days. Also verse 25 which says there will be 69 sevens {483 year} from the time the decree is issued to "restore and rebuild Jerusalem to the Messiah the Prince" -- literally the Messiah's execution [crucifixion].
Why the 69 is divided as 7 and 62 I am not sure and haven't found anyone with a suggestion. I haven't found anything that stands out 49 years after the decree was issued to restore Jerusalem. [62 = 2x31 --. 31 is the 11th prime number]
69 is 3x23 [23 is the 9th prime number -- 9 is the number of judgment]
Dan 12:6-13 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? (7) And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and swore by him that liveth forever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. (8) And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? (9) And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. (10) Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. (11) And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. (12) Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. (13) But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
