  [E-5]  Armageddon and The Millennial Kingdom

{1000 years of Jesus' reign on present earth} Rev. 20:2-7

When Jesus returns the angels of heaven and we will be with him. {Col 3:4; I Thes. 3:13; Jude 1:14} ["saint" means "holy one"] There will be those who survive the last seven years of world history, {Zech. 14:16-19} some will accept the Lord, some will not, but He will reign over everyone.

All the armies of the world will gather on the plains of Megiddo to do battle with the Lord when He returns. {Rev. 16:12-16}

At the "Battle of Armageddon" no battle is actually fought! Jesus will repeat what He said at Calvary: "It is finished." {Rev. 16:17} When He makes that statement, the people present at Megido will kill each other, there will be a great earthquake, and people's flesh will rot while they are still standing. Their blood will flow as high as a horses bridle for 180 miles! {Rev. 14:20}

Jesus will descend on the Mount of Olives. {Zech. 14:4; Acts 1:9-12}

Jesus will enter Jerusalem by the Eastern Gate. {Ezek. 43:1-4}
{The Eastern Gate is the only gate still standing, and it is currently sealed shut!}

Jesus will rule the world from Jerusalem. {Zech. 14:16-17, Jer. 3:17; Micah 4:2}

When we come back with the Lord, we will already be in our spiritual bodies, {I Cor. 15:42-54} but the survivors of the Tribulation will still have their fleshly bodies. {Zech. 14:16-19}

The twelve disciples of Jesus will rule over the twelve tribes of Israel, and we will be appointed to serve different roles. {Matt 19:28}

People will die during the millennium. If a person doesn't live to at least 100, he will be considered cursed by God. {Is. 65:20}

Some people will refuse to obey Jesus' command to go to Jerusalem every year for the Feast of Tabernacles; they will be punished.  {Zech 14:17-19}

There will be no more hunger or thirst. {Is. 49:8-10; Rev. 7:16-17}

There will be no more war. {Is. 2:1-4; Micah 4:1-14}

There will be no more killing of people or animals.

Animals will be tame and will not hurt God's people, or each other. They will not hurt anyone around God's holy mountain. {It is possible they may hurt or kill those who reject the Lord in other places-- the scriptures do not say for sure about this.} {Is. 10:6-9; 65:25}

After the 1000 years, Satan will be released for a short time and he will gather people of all nations who have not accepted Jesus as their Lord. He will lead these people in the last great battle against Jesus at Jerusalem. {Rev. 20:1-10}

The great invasion will be followed by the Great Throne Judgment, the new heavens, new earth, and New Jerusalem. {Rev. 20:11 - 22:21}

After the new heavens and new earth are created there will be no more death or mourning. {Rev. 21:4}

1Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

2For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

3Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

4And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

5And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

6And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:

7But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

8And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

9And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

10All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.

1Behold, the day of the LORD {Jehovah} is coming, and your wealth will be divided in your midst.

2Because I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city will be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city will go forth into captivity, and the remainder of the people will not be cut off from the city.

3Then the LORD {Jehovah} will go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle.

4And His feet will stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives will split in the middle towards the east and towards the west, and there will be a very great valley; and half of the mountain will move towards the north, and half of it towards the south.

5And you will flee to the valley of the mountains; because the valley of the mountains will reach to Azal: yes, you will flee, just as you fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD {Jehovah} My God will come, and all the saints with you.

6And it will come to pass in that day, that the light will not be clear, nor dark:

7But it will be one day which will be known to the LORD {Jehovah}, not day, nor night: but it will come to pass, that at evening time it will be light.

8And it will be in that day, that living waters will go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the sea in front [to the east], and half of them toward the sea behind [to the west]: so it will be in summer and in winter.

9And the LORD {Jehovah}  will be king over all the earth: in that day there will be one LORD {Jehovah}, and His Name one.

10All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate to the place of the first gate, to the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel to the king's winepresses.

11And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

12And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

13And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.

14And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance.

15And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.

16And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

17And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

18And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

19This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

20In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before the altar.

(Zech 14:1-20   AKJ)

11And men will live in it, and there will be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem will be safely inhabited.

12And this will be the plague with which the LORD {Jehovah} will strike all the people who have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh will consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes will consume away in their sockets, and their tongue will consume away in their mouth.

13And it will come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD {Jehovah} will be among them; and everyone will lay hold on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand will rise up against the hand of his neighbour.

14And Judah also will fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen all around will be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance.

15And so will the plague of the horse be, of the mule, of the camel, and of the donkey, and of all the beasts that will be in these tents, as this plague.

16And it will come to pass, that every one who is left of all the nations who came against Jerusalem will go up even from year to year to worship the King, the LORD {Jehovah} of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

17And it will be, that whoever will not come up of all the families of the earth to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD {Jehovah} of hosts, even upon them there will be no rain.

18And if the family of Egypt does not go up, and does not come, who have no rain; there will be the plague, with which the LORD {Jehovah} will strike the heathen who do not come up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

19This will be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that do not come up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

20In that day there will be [inscribed] upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD {Jehovah}; and the pots in the LORD'S house will be like the bowls before the altar.  (Zech 14:1-20  KJP)

1And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

2And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

3And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

4But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

5And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

6The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

7And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

9They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

10And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

11And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

1And there will come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch will grow out of his roots:

2And the Spirit of the LORD {Jehovah} will rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverence for the LORD {Jehovah};

3And will make Him of quick understanding in the reverence for the LORD {Jehovah}: and He will not judge after the sight of His eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of His ears:

4But with righteousness He will judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He will kill the wicked.

5And righteousness will be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the girdle of His clothing.

6The wolf also will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatened calf together; and a little child will lead them.

7And the cow and the bear will feed; their young ones will lie down together: and the lion will eat straw like the ox.

8And the nursing child will play on the hole of the snake, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper's den.

9They will not harm nor destroy in all My holy mountain: because the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD {Jehovah}, as the waters cover the sea.

10And in that day there will be a root of Jesse, Who will stand for an Ensign for the people; to Him the Gentiles will seek: and His rest shall be glorious.

11And it will come to pass in that day, that the Lord will set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people, who are left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

12And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

13The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.

(Is 11:1-13  AKJ)

12And He will set up an Ensign for the nations, and  the outcasts of Israel will assemble, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

13Also the envy of Ephraim will depart, and the adversaries of Judah will be cut off: Ephraim will not envy Judah, and Judah will not agravate Ephraim.  (Is 11:1-13  KJP)

1I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.

2I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;

3A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;

4Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

5Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

6Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,

7Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.

8Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.

1I am sought by those who have not asked for Me; I am found by those who did not seek Me: I said, Look at Me, look at Me, to a nation that was not called by My name.

2I have spread out My hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walked in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;

3A people who provoked Me to anger continually to My face; who sacrificed in gardens, and burned incense upon altars of brick [to their idols];

4Who remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, who eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

5Who say, Stand by yourself, do not come near to me; because I am holier than you. These are a smoke in My nose, a fire that burns all the day.

6Behold, it is written before Me: I will not keep silence, but will repay, even repayment into their bosom,

7Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, says the LORD {Jehovah}, who have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed Me upon the hills: therefore I will measure their former work into their bosom.

8This is what the LORD {Jehovah} says, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, Do not destroy it; because a blessing is in it: so I will do for My servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.

9And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.

10And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.

11But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.

12Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.

13Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:

14Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.

15And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:

16That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.

17For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

18But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

19And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

9And I will bring forth a Seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an Inheritor of My mountains: and My elect will inherit it, and My servants will live there.

10And Sharon will be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, because of My people who have sought Me.

11But you are those who forsake the LORD {Jehovah}, who forget My holy mountain, who prepare a table for that troop, and who furnish the drink offering to that number.

12Therefore will I number you to the sword, and you will all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, you did not answer; when I spoke, you did not listen; but did evil before My eyes, and chose that in which I did not delight.

13Therefore this is what the Lord GOD {Jehovah} says, Behold, My servants will eat, but you will be hungry: behold, My servants will drink, but you will be thirsty: behold, My servants will rejoice, but you will be ashamed:

14Behold, My servants will sing for joy of heart, but you will cry for sorrow of heart, and will howl because of the turmoil of your spirit.

15And you will leave your name for a curse to My chosen: because the Lord GOD {Jehovah} will kill you, and call His servants by another name:

16That he who blesses himself in the earth will bless himself in the God of truth; and he who swears in the earth will swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hidden from My eyes.

17Because, behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth: and the former will not be remembered, nor even come into mind.

18But you be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create: because, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

19And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and delight in My  people: and the voice of weeping will no more be heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

20There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

21And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.

22They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

23They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

24And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

25The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

(Is 65:1-25  AKJ)

20There will no more be there an infant of days, nor an old man who has not filled his days: because the child will die a hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old will be accursed.

21And they will build houses, and live in them; and they will plant vineyards, and eat their fruit.

22They will not build, and another inhabit; they will not plant, and another eat: because as the days of a tree so are the days of My people, and My elect will long enjoy the work of their hands.

23They will not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; because they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD {Jehovah}, and their offspring with them.

24And it will come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

25The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the bull: and dust will be the serpent's food. They will not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, says the LORD {Jehovah}
